Merano’s best cycling routes

Panoramic tour of the Merano area

This tour starts in Rifiano/Riffian, right in front of our hotel. Leaving the town of Rifiano, turn left towards Merano onto the Merano-Passeiertal cycle path. Continue towards Merano and from there to Lagundo/Algund. Follow the Adige/Etsch cycle path towards Sinigo/Sinich and then back onto the Merano-Passeiertal cycle path to Rifiano.

Tour of mountain pastures at the foot of Mt. Cervina/Hirzer

From Saltusio/Saltaus, ca. 3 km from our hotel, turn right past Schweinsteg and climb the first 500 metres of elevation gain by car or cable car. The tour starts by the intermediate terminal of the Hirzer cable car, from where a forest trail takes to the beautiful Gompm Alm alpine pasture.

Castles and fortresses tour

Castle Fragsburg is 11 km away from the Zirmerhof, where the tour starts. Take the Passeiertal-Meran cycle path to reach Maia Alta/Obermais. From there, follow the signs to Castle Trauttmansdorff. When you reach castle Rametz, take towards Labers and continue to the Hecherhof restaurant. Take the same way back to Rifiano.

Would you rather leave your own MTB at home? No problem! You can hire one directly at Hotel Zirmerhof and keep it for the duration of your holiday in Merano and Environs. We have recently enriched our bike fleet with E-MTBs of the Swiss brand Flyer, also available for hire at a small fee.

If you are travelling with your bike, you can keep it safe in our bike depot at no charge.
